About

Est. 2025

Canister Archive is the world's largest open database tracking tear gas use. We collect and verify information about tear gas canisters used in protests and demonstrations worldwide.

Our database helps journalists investigate police tactics, supports researchers studying crowd control methods, and gives communities the information they need to demand accountability.

This project started when young protesters began documenting the tear gas used against them. What began as collected evidence has grown into a global archive.
